Goetz Printing joins Carbonfund.org’s CarbonFree program

June 2008: The Goetz Printing Company announced it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org one of the country’s leading carbon offset organizations.

By participating in the CarbonFree program, Goetz Printing offsets 100% of its electrical consumption through a blend of wind and solar certificates and neutralizes its remaining carbon emissions footprint (natural gas and transportation) through its support of reforestation projects based both in the United States and abroad.

“Goetz Printing has a history of being eco-conscious: it’s certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, Sustainable Forestry Initiative and the Program for the Endorsement of Forestry Certifications,” said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. “Now Goetz Printing is taking the natural next step of offsetting its carbon footprint. We’re proud to help it go CarbonFree.”

We are proud to participate in a program that offers cutting-edge, technologically-based, sustainable solutions for our shared environment.

Goetz Printing acquires dual COC environmental certification

MAY 2008: As a part of a broad commitment to corporate social responsibility, Goetz Printing has achieved certification to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI Inc.).

The SFI sustainable forestry certification program is one of the largest in the world. This program promotes responsible environmental behavior and sound forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests of exceptional conservation value. Chain-of-custody certification means a company has a tracking system in place that identifies the amount of certified, uncertified and recycled content in the forest products it buys, uses or sells. Our SFI chain of custody certification also connects us with a strong network of progressive suppliers of environmentally-friendly paper products.

“Demand for products from well-managed forests is increasing worldwide. Goetz Printing joins a growing number of companies that are demonstrating their environmental commitment through certification to the SFI program,” said SFI Inc. President and CEO Kathy Abusow. “At a time when just 10 percent of the world’s forests are independently certified, Goetz Printing has taken a leadership role by supporting global efforts to improve forest practices.”
